Warhammer 40K

April 1st
Kill Team Rules:

Point Max: 200

Force Org :
0-1Elite
0-2Troops
0-1Fast Attack

++ No HQ or Heavy Support selections
++ No Vehicles
++ No Multi Wound Models

You must take units as legal squads, not just individual models. They can be equipped or upgraded normally.

You may select 3 specialists. Pick 3 models in your force and you can assign them a special rule from the 40K Rule book (Fearless, Tank Hunter, Feel No Pain, Acute Senses, etc….). A rule can only be used once in your army, you have to pick three separate rules.

All models can move independently and are each considered an individual model, much like independent characters.
Movement: is as normal, 2d6 for difficult terrain. Models that end their turn within 2 inches of another model will be considered “In Coherency” with those models.
Shooting: Normally one model shoots at an individual model. If your model has more than 1 ranged attack, it may target multiple targets IF those targets are In Coherency (within 2 inches) of each other.
Leadership: The armies leadership is equal to the highest leadership model in your army still on the table at the beginning of the turn.

Retreat Value: This number is equal to one quarter (normally this is half but with the number of people playing I’m lowering it. And I’ll evaluate the rule after the first game.) of your army count in number of models, rounded down. Once you are at this value, your army must make a leadership check at the start of each turn. If you fail this roll, your army will tactically retreat from the battlefield. This means that you’ve lost the game (but you can still shoot as you running as normal). Once your army is at one quarter or less models, you must take this test. Each subsequent turn, this test is made at a cumulative -1 modifier. So the next turn you take this roll is -1, and the third turn it is -2, and so on.

The Game:Every man for himself and everyone plays at the same time. So it should be a pretty wild fight. Before each game names will be drawn out of a cup/bag/container and that will be your enemy for that game. Next you will draw out a mission. There will also be bonus objectives that will give you points.
The board will be a heavy urban setup so it will be a lot of buildings.
Winning:The games will be scored via Kill Points. We will tally up all the points on a white board as we go. There will be a winner for each game but the player with the highest kill points for all three will be the winner of the event.
Prizes:This is a free event that is designed to get people out and having a good time so it’s more for fun. But, the winner will get free entrance into the next 40K Tourney (which is normally $10.00).
Dave and I will be playing as we don’t want to miss all the fun. But if one of us should win we will pass the prize on to the person with the next highest total.
Players will also be able to pass as well, if you think you won’t be in the next Tourney or just want to be nice and pass you are welcome to. But, the prize goes to the person with the next highest total. You can not give it to someone else.

February Tournament
Date: Sunday Feb 19th 2012
Time: Start 10AM
Points: 2000

Players and Armies

Sean – Black Templar
Josh – Orks
Herb – Chaos Space Marines
Thom – Grey Knights
John – Space Wolves
Chris – Blood Angels

Rules:

The Tournament will be 3 games per player, the Victory Points of all three games will be
added up and the player with the highest total of VPs is the winner. If there is a tie on point’s
strength of wins will determine the victor. Strength of wins will be determined such:
Massacre +3
Major Victory + 2
Minor Victory + 1
Draw 0
Loss -1
But remember this will only be the result of a tie on Victory Points.
Each player will be assigned a table and opponent in the first round. The following rounds
players will be paired by VP totals (highest plays highest) and time (If players are available
to start the next game).
All standard gaming rules apply and are posted in the playing area of Chuck’s. And the
most important rule of all .. let’s have some fun.

Time:

We will be starting at 10 am and will be playing till the Victor has emerged. Please be on
time as we want to get all the games in. There will be a 3 hour time limit on each game and
I will be walking around keeping track of the game times. If I notice a game isn’t going to
make a full 5 rounds I’ll let you know. I’ll give you a rounds notice if possible (if you are on
turn 3 and are getting close I may tell you the next full round is the last).

Missions:

There will be 3 custom missions that will be assigned by round. They are more complex
than normal and will offer more Victory Points.
We have a stand in player in case someone doesn’t show or some other issue arrises. So
don’t worry we have fall back plans in case something happens.

Prizes:

1st Prize will be $60.00 worth of Games Workshop products. The prize must be
selected on Sunday, it can be ordered but must be the day of the Tournament. So
think about what you want.

Good Sportsman – $10.00 plus discount off of Games Workshop products. The
prize must be selected on Sunday, it can be ordered but must be the day of the
Tournament. So think about what you want. All players will vote for who they think
showed the greatest sportsmanship during the Tournament. You can’t vote for
yourself (That’s the opposite of what this award even means) but you don’t have to
vote for anyone. A ballet will be handed out with your players packet.
There will also be a special discount for all players playing in the Tournament. This
only applies to the day of the event.

Judging:
I will be judging the event. If there are any questions or debates on LOS or rules I
will be the final word on the issue at hand. If you feel someone isn’t playing fair or
correctly but don’t want to call them out, let me know.
